For Providers

Get the redetermination
support your practice needs from Meridian.

Providers can play a critical role in helping patients keep their Medicaid coverage. We’re here to make sure you have everything you need to keep your patients from losing coverage unnecessarily.

What is redetermination?

Every year, the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) conducts a review of all Medicaid beneficiaries’ finances and family situations. This review, called redetermination, is to ensure that beneficiaries still qualify for healthcare coverage through Medicaid.

Redetermination was on pause during the COVID-19 public health emergency. Redetermination started back up in April 2023, and all beneficiaries will complete this process by June 2024.
