How to connect to another health plan

If you are no longer eligible for Medicaid, it is important to quickly get other health insurance. You usually have 30 to 60 days to enroll in a new plan. This is called a “Special Enrollment Period.” Ask your job about health insurance or visit the official Affordable Care Act Marketplace for Illinois at You can get free help signing up for a plan that meets your needs. Financial help is available. Most people find a plan for $10 or less per month after tax credits. See if you qualify for a tax credit.
